If you are unable to receive verification codes, you can reset the phone number used for two-factor authentication (2FA) on BitTap. To ensure account security, withdrawals and quick trades will be suspended for 24 hours after changing your phone number. Here’s how to reset your phone number on BitTap:

1. Log in to Your BitTap Account

First, log in to the BitTap platform using your account credentials. Make sure you can access the account and perform two-factor authentication (such as Google Authenticator or SMS verification).

2. Navigate to Account Settings

After logging in, go to your Account Settings or Security Settings. This section allows you to manage your personal information and security options related to your account.

3. Find the “Phone Number” Option

In the Security Settings page, locate the option to “Change Phone Number”.

4. Verify Your Current Identity

To ensure security, BitTap will ask you to verify your identity before changing your phone number. You will typically need to verify using one of these methods:

  • Google Authenticator: Enter the verification code generated by Google Authenticator.
  • Current Phone Verification: Input the verification code sent to your current phone number (such as an SMS code).
  • Email Verification: Enter the verification code sent to your registered email address.

5. Enter the New Phone Number

After successfully verifying your identity, you will be allowed to enter your new phone number. Make sure you select the correct country code when entering the new number.

6. Verify the New Phone Number

BitTap will send a verification code to your new phone number. Enter this code to confirm and bind the new phone number to your account.

7. Complete the Change

Once the verification code is entered correctly, your new phone number will be successfully linked to your BitTap account. From now on, you will receive SMS verifications and notifications on this new number.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure your new phone number can receive SMS verification codes and is not set up with any SMS blocking features.
  • It is recommended to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to further protect your account.
  • If you no longer use your current registered phone number, it is advised to update it as soon as possible to avoid missing important SMS notifications.
