If you notice any security risks or suspicious activity on your BitTap account, you can request account deactivation to protect your personal information and assets. Once an account deactivation request is submitted, the account can only be reactivated through BitTap’s customer service. If you accidentally deactivate your account, you will need to wait a minimum of 2 hours before you can use the account again, and customer service will reverify your identity.
Steps to Request Account Deactivation:
- Log in to Your BitTap Account:
- Use your registered email or phone number and password to log in to the official BitTap website or mobile app.
- Go to Account Settings:
- After logging in, click on your profile picture or account icon at the top right corner, then select “Account Settings” or “Security Settings.”
- Contact Customer Support to Request Account Deactivation:
- Currently, BitTap does not support self-deactivation of accounts. To deactivate your account, you will need to contact the BitTap customer service team.
- Navigate to the “Help Center” or “Contact Support” option on the BitTap website or app. You can reach customer service through live chat, email, or by submitting a support ticket, explaining your need to deactivate the account.
- Provide Verification Information:
- To ensure the security of your account, the customer service team will ask for identity verification details, such as your registered email, phone number, and possibly two-factor authentication (2FA) information.
- Once your account information is verified, the support team will process your deactivation request.
- Wait for Account Deactivation Confirmation:
- Once your request is successfully processed, the BitTap support team will notify you via email or SMS that your account has been deactivated.
- Post-Deactivation Handling:
- After your account is deactivated, you will no longer be able to log in or use any of BitTap’s services. If you want to reactivate your account in the future, you will need to contact customer support to unlock the account.
Important Notes:
- Disputed Accounts: If your account or assets are involved in any dispute, BitTap will keep the account deactivated until the dispute is resolved.
- User-Initiated Action: Account deactivation is initiated by the account holder. To ensure the security of your assets, do not rent, lend, or sell your account to others.
- For Long-Term Inactivity: If you don’t plan to use the account for an extended period but do not want to deactivate it fully, consider enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) to secure your account instead.
