If you need to change the email address associated with your BitTap account, follow these steps. Please note that for security reasons, BitTap may require you to complete identity verification to ensure that the request is initiated by you.
1. Log In to Your BitTap Account
· Open your browser, visit the official BitTap website (e.g., www.bittap.com), and log in to your account using your current email address and password.
2. Access Account Settings
· After logging in, click on your account icon or username at the top right corner of the page to access the account settings or profile page.
3. Find and Select the “Change Email Address” Option
· In the account settings or profile page, look for and click on the option labeled “Change Email Address” or something similar.
4. Enter the New Email Address
· In the appropriate input field, enter the new email address you wish to use. Make sure that the email address is valid and that you can access it.
5. Complete Identity Verification
· To confirm that it is indeed you making the changes, BitTap may require you to complete multi-factor authentication (MFA) or enter your account password. If you have MFA enabled, you will need to input the dynamic code generated by your authentication app.
· Additionally, BitTap may send a verification email to your current email address. You will need to click the link in the email or enter the code provided to confirm the change.
6. Confirm and Save the Changes
· After verification, click the “Confirm” or “Save” button to finalize the changes. The system will update your account’s email address.
7. Verify the New Email Address
· BitTap may send a verification email to the new email address. Log in to your new email account, find this email, and click the verification link within it to complete the change of your email address.
8. Update MFA Settings (If Applicable)
· If your email address is part of your MFA setup, it’s recommended that you check and update your MFA settings to ensure your account remains protected.
9. Review Account Activity
· After changing your email address, it’s advisable to review your account activity logs to ensure there has been no unauthorized activity.
